San Francisco (Part 2)

Welcome to part 2 of San Francisco!

San Francisco zoo

We were a little skeptical going here because it wasn’t really listed as one of SF’s top attractions but we took a chance and went. Totally worth it! This zoo is huge and has lots of cool animals. It is totally for all ages, considering a 17, 15, and 13 year old all enjoyed it!

Muir Woods

For a taste of the Redwood Forest just half an hour outside of the city, this is the place! We heard about this from a local, and were definitely happy with the choice to go. It is $10 to get in, so make sure you bring hiking shoes to make it worth it! I believe we went about 4 miles. The upper trail (don’t know the name!) is super cool, you’re walking on a trail up above the creek and it gives a different view of the trees!

Chinatown

This is a free experience and is super fun. It really is interesting to walk through streets, its totally different from the rest of the city. We did stop in the Golden Gate Fortune Cookie Factory, which was free and we got free cookies. Not incredible, if you’re not a fortune cookie fan, this really isn’t worth it.

Fort Point

Considering my dad is history buff, we had to stop here. There is a large military fort, which offers great views of the golden gate bridge from the parking lot and on the top of the fort. There is also a theater that shows 2 videos. We watched the Bridge building video and it was very interesting, and a nice break from walking around.

Cable Car

We took the cable car on California street. This was such a fun experience. On the car we got to see the Grace cathedral, Chinatown, and some very nice hotels! It was super fun. It is expensive but totally worth it!
